Say what you will about their gross pumpkin latte products, but Starbucks has just done every traveler a huge favor. The New York Times reports that Starbucks will now offer unlimited free Wi-Fi at every one of its U.S. locations. In the era before the iPhone and iPad (a backward time in which this writer still lingers), Starbucks often served as a make-do Internet cafe on the road. But it was hugely annoying to do something as simple as look up an address on a map. Inevitably it required buying a Starbucks card and a drink and making a call to customer service. Starbucks deserves every bit of good will it can muster for keeping its bathrooms open and its tubes free.
