Last Wednesday, Bravo aired the first episode of Top Chef D.C. And before the show DCist readers responded in the wonk tradition of polls. Given how little information was available, DCist readers did really well.

We asked if the participation of Oval Room chef Tamesha Warren would make you more likely to visit the restaurant. Only 40% of respondents indicated that they were now more interested in visiting the Oval Room. A good chunk (25%) indicated that they’d rather go to Chipotle.

But even though she may not have piqued your interest in the Oval Room, Warren was voted most likely to win Top Chef (30%). Sadly she didn’t quite make it into the top four in the first episode. Meanwhile, the next most popular cheftestant in the poll, Angelo Sosa, was the winner of both the Quickfire and the main challenge. Clearly, some of our voters can really recognize the talent. Now that we’ve gotten a better glimpse of our contestants, let’s see how well we continue to predict who should be on top. (Polls after the jump.)
