MONDAY
The last time The Love Language came to town, they invaded a house dubbed “The Claw” for a rollicking, sweat-inducing good time. Though the backstage at the Cat is not quite as homey, the band’s lovelorn pop jumpstart an otherwise anemic week of music in the district. Pree (***) kick things off. 9:00 p.m., $10.

>>Fort Reno: Club Scout, Sugar Dunes, Lucy. 7:00 p.m., Free.

TUESDAY
Jack White of The White Stripes’ latest extra-curricular activity, The Dead Weather, is yet another foray into precisionist minimalism, this time with the help of Kills’ singer Alison Mosshart’s moody posturing. Say what you will of the band’s music, but its work ethic is to be admired; The Dead Weather’s Sea of Cowards is its second album in a calendar year. Unsurprisingly, the band will play to a sold-out crowd at 9:30 with Austin garage rockers Harlem opening. 7:00 p.m.
