>> The “Fatback” party will be morphing into “The Very Big Fatback” tonight and take place at the 9:30 Club. Along with the typical dance party, there will be live performances from Art of Junk (members of the original Junkyard Band) and George Smallwood, who was mentioned in last week’s post on PPU Records & Tapes. $10, 9 p.m.

>> DJ Dredd and Grap Luva host another “Close 2 the Edge” golden era hip-hop party at the Black Cat‘s Backstage. $7, 9:30 p.m.
