Photo by erin m.Good morning, Washington. It’s the day you haven’t been waiting for: The Hill’s 50 Most Beautiful 2010 feature is live. Of course, as is our tradition whenever The Hill releases a new version of this list, we point you to DCist alum Jason Linkins’ epic takedowns of the annual “Hill Hotties” list. We look forward to his insight into this year’s list, which is topped by Alexis Latifi, a staff assistant for for Sen. Richard Shelby (R-Ala.).
40,043 Pack Nats Park For…Miguel Batista: Stephen Strasburg was scheduled to start last night’s home game against the Atlanta Braves. But general manager Mike Rizzo made the precautionary move to pull Strasburg from the game after he exhibited some kind of shoulder issue during his pre-game toss in the bullpen; suffice it to say, the crowd was not pleased when they saw Batista sauntering out to the mound. Many booed, and some left; but those that stuck around missed one of the Nats’ better efforts in some time, as they shutout the division-leading Braves, 3-0. Batista scored himself a candidate for quote of the year to boot: “Imagine if you go to see Miss Universe, then you end up having Miss Iowa, you might get those kind of boos,” he said after the game. Strasburg, for his part, told reporters “I feel stiff.”
The Go-Between: Have you cursed Pepco to the end of the Earth on Twitter? Andre Francis has read it. Monica Hesse profiles the man who’s in charge of the utility’s social networking in the Post this morning, and finds that Francis’ job — limiting the rage of anonymous people over the internet, often with a limited number of characters at his disposal — is hardly an enviable position. We’ve been working with Francis since last winter’s snowpocalypse, and can confirm that he’s really doing good work; after all, as Hesse notes, Francis’ power has been out this week, too.
Major Traffic Snarl By The Mall This Morning: A two-vehicle accident at the intersection of 17th Street and Constitution Avenue NW is causing a blocks-long holdups at this moment this morning. Avoid the area at all costs if you’re heading out this morning, it’s a real mess. (We hope that today’s Morning Roundup photo brings you a little bit of relief.)

This Day In DCist: Last year, Shiloh Baptist Church decided to sell two of its vacant buildings in Shaw; in 2006, we enjoyed Eleanor Holmes Norton’s appearance on the Colbert Report.
