A long week for Metro just keeps getting longer — a downed electrical line between the Forest Glen and Silver Spring stations is causing serious delays this afternoon for Red Line commuters. (If you’re heading north on the Red Line, MARC or Amtrak tonight, we suggest enjoying a happy hour beverage or two before hopping on.) Power was cut off in the area, so passengers on a stuck six-car train had to disembark between the two stations. Metro is currently operating no rail service between Silver Spring and Forest Glen; MARC’s Brunswick line is also temporarily suspended until the trees and wires can be cleared from the tracks. And as if that wasn’t enough of a headache, the Foggy Bottom station — which has pretty much been Metrofail central for the last 24 hours — experienced some flooding due to this afternoon’s rainstorm.
