  • The 4th annual Columbia Heights Day has a date: August 28. The actual festival, to be held at Harriet Tubman Elementary Field, will feature yoga, a dog show, tons of food, and after-hours events at the neighborhood’s restaurants and bars.
  • Look, I know that the D.C. government has had its share of oversight issues. But as Michael Neibauer reports, lying about your address on an employment application is probably not the best idea.
  • George Mason researchers conclude that many purveyors of online pornography “have business models that are based on very questionable practices that could very well be abused for malicious activities and conducting cyber-crime.” Sounds about right.
  • Restaurateur Roberto Donna, who is in some serious financial trouble, left a post on the Don Rockwell message board in search of a line cook for his new restaurant, Galileo III. His only reply came in the form of a man looking for restitution, claiming that a check Donna gave him bounced. Ouch.

  • A awful lot of Americans are obese — but D.C. and Colorado fare a little bit better among adults. (I guess all that anti-American bike-sharing we do is good for something, after all.)
