Idyllic is the only word I have to describe this scene that akkleis captured. The Mall and the Washington Monument have never looked this good in the 20 years I’ve been here. The use of film, processing, angle, and subjects all combine to make it seem like this was shot in the 1970s instead of this past Memorial Day weekend.
