UPDATE: The package turned out to be nothing but a bunch of clothes chained to a tree. All the affected streets have now opened back up. A suspicious package near Franklin Park is causing some problems for drivers and bus riders this morning. NBCWashington.com tweets that the package is located at the intersection of 13th Street and New York Avenue NW, and DCist has learned that westbound traffic at 12th and I Streets, southbound traffic at 12th and K Streets, and northbound traffic at 13th and New York Avenue NW is currently closed as police investigate. The D.C. Circulator’s Woodley Park-McPherson Square route is also currently detouring around the area and has moved its 14th Street stops to the corner of 13th and K.
