This morning’s “uh, wha?” comes courtesy of man-about-Bloomingdale Scott Roberts, who found this advertisement, created by Comcast to promote its controversial acquisition of NBC Universal and filmed at Big Bear Cafe. Its symbolism: Comcast just wants to share a latte with NBC Universal — why won’t that pesky Justice Department leave them to caffeinate together in peace?

Okay, now do you understand what can happen when you oppose liquor licenses for local businesses? They are forced to turn to Comcast, who then uses their space to film commercials for their new On Demand product which pumps LSD directly into the consumer! (Or something. I’m not aware of any current product produced by the two companies which would create the kind of effects seen in the advertisement, so I had to just take a stab on what they were actually selling.)

Oh, and hey, bandwidth sucker: if you’re going to watch the latest NBC crap-o-rama at the cafe, perhaps you might consider investing in some headphones? Thanks.
