Beer Week, is themed: Fermented: A Night of True Tales About Beer. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the show goes from 8-10 p.m. $15.
MUSIC: His song “One Day” (theme of the 2010 Winter Olympics) took him from “Hasidic reggae guy” to legitimate and recognized artist. Tonight, Matisyahu comes to the 9:30 Club (815 V Street NW). Moon Taxi also performs. 7:00 p.m., $35.
>> The Music Center at Strathmore (5301 Tuckerman Lane, Bethesda) continues its free summer concert series with Uke Fest 2010: Ladies of the Uke, featuring artists The Sweater Set, Victoria Vox, The Hula Honeys, The Riders, and Cathy Fink & Marcy Marxer. The music starts at 7 p.m., but come early for a street festival at 5:30 p.m., and bring your own uke and rock out with your fellow audience members at 6 p.m. Free.
FOOD & DRINK: Catch A Bitch and a Bastard, an event featuring ten beer samples (including Raging Bitch IPA and Arrogant Bastard Ale) from Flying Dog Ales and Stone Brewing Co., also at the The Big Hunt (1345 Connecticut Avenue NW) tonight. $30 in advance, or $35 at the door. 8 p.m.
>> Celebrate two American pastimes, watching baseball and drinking beer, at Nationals Park (1500 South Capitol Street SE) tonight. During their D.C. Beer Week event, watch the Nationals take on the Cubs from a Scoreboard Pavilion seat and receive four free samples of Leinenkugel beer. 7 p.m., $22.
BENEFIT: The Green Carpet Affair at Eastern Market (225 7th Street SE) is a night of music (Christylez Bacon), free beer (Lagunitas Brewing Company), art (Jay Coleman), and free food (DC’s Occasions Caterers). Ticket proceeds go to support DC Greenworks. 6:30-9 p.m., $12.
