Good morning, Washington. Are you planning on heading down to the Mall to, uhm, people watch? Maybe volunteer to serve as a tour guide? Well, at least you are in for some lovely weather. We’ll have plenty of sunshine today, with temperatures into the 80s. Should be a great day for all of the various events taking place around town, including Columbia Heights Day.

>> Natalie Randolph’s Coolidge Colts lose first game 28-0. We reported earlier this month on how Randolph was preparing for her first season as the only female high school football coach in the country. Last night the Colts were unable to score against Archbishop Carroll High School.

>> Teenager falls through fire station skylight. Yesterday afternoon a male in his late teens crashed through a glass skylight at a fire station in Greenbelt. The man was using a leaf blower to clean the roof when the accident occurred. EMS crews from the fire station evaluated the victim, whose injuries were not serious.

>> MPD searching for bank robbery suspect. Police have released a very clear photo of a man who robbed a Chevy Chase Bank in the 2800 block of Alabama Avenue, SE on Thursday. They are asking the public for help in identifying the suspect.

>> MLK memorial could be completed next year. While Glenn Beck and company may be desecrating the memory of Martin Luther King, Jr. today, the official memorial plans are progressing. The foundation work is nearly completed, and soon the 28-foot-tall statue of King can be moved from storage and put into place.
