In addition to the seven-game suspension he’s already received for (allegedly) throwing a ball at a Phillies fan (which is still pending an appeal), Nationals centerfielder Nyjer Morgan has received an additional eight-game suspension for Wednesday night’s slapfight. Here’s the rundown of the rest of the suspensions stemming from the fight:

Also for the Nationals, pitcher Doug Slaten and third-base coach Pat Listach received three-game suspensions, and manager Jim Riggleman got a two-game penalty. On the Marlins side, pitcher Chris Volstad was suspended for six games, pitcher Alex Sanabia got five, first baseman Gaby Sanchez three, and manager Edwin Rodriguez will serve one game.

That all sounds reasonable, although Gaby Sanchez seems to have gotten off a bit light for his clothesline of Morgan. Hopefully, everyone can return in time for next weekend’s grudge match at Nationals Park.
