Politicians may have the stage today, but tomorrow, it’s all about the food carts and trucks. The D.C. Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs, in partnership with the D.C. Commission on the Arts and Humanities and Brightest Young Things is sponsoring the 2010 Curbside Cookoff, which will take place October 7-8. The gathering will feature art and performances, as well as food, in the footprint of the old Convention Center. The event will feature 20 mobile food vendors (be they truck or cart), as chosen by a public vote. Voting begins tomorrow.
While the hype may be all about the food trucks, be sure to not neglect your favorite stationary cart (I’m thinkin’ about the little yellow Korean barbecue cart).
