TUESDAY

Although Austrian musician Christian Fennesz has been active for several decades, it’s only within the past ten years that he has gained the attention of electronic and experimental music fans on these shores, starting with the release of Endless Summer and followed by some collaborations with well-known players like Jim O’Rourke and Mike Patton. There are limited tickets to Fennesz’s show at the Strathmore tonight as part of the Sonic Circuits Festival, so show up to the door early. Janel & Anthony, Arturas Bumsteinas and The Low End String Quartet will also perform. $20, 8 p.m.

>> Any number of British acts that came to public recognition five years ago combined danceable beats and post-punk guitar lines. The Klaxons placed a little more emphasis on the “dance” portion than their contemporaries however, referring to themselves as nu-rave. If you’ve never seen them before, head to the 9:30 Club tonight. $20, 7:00 p.m.

>> Rock and Roll Hotel: Murder By Death, Samantha Crain, Ninja Gun. $15, 8:30 p.m.
