From the no, really, this goes without saying department, MPD is warning residents again that people like to steal iPhones. On Wednesday, there were two robberies at 21st and P Streets, NW involving iPhones. In each case, the suspect would strike up a conversation and then ask to use the victim’s phone. Once the phone was out, the suspect would snatch it and run. Remember, keep your phone in your pocket, bag, purse, etc. when possible. Try deploying mind tricks if the suspect sees you talking on your phone–casually place it back in your pocket and insist you have no idea what phone they are talking about. For good measure, continue talking to yourself for a few moments.
