Good morning, Washington. It’s going to be another nine hundred billion degrees today, so be sure to drink a lot of water if you’re planning on attending any of the dozens of festivals and activities going on today. Remember, we get roughly four or five nice fall days in D.C. each year, and we may have used up that allowance before the season technically even started. There is a real chance we might get some actual fall weather soon, though we should also expect some rain. That’s good, though, it’s about time that monsoon season rolls around to cancel out the near-drought.
>> Court testimony reveals gruesome details in Shaw stabbing. Marcus McLean, 24, is facing first-degree murder charges in the August 8 stabbing death of Delando King. According to testimony from an MPD homicide detective, King was stabbed more than 30 times and his body was left covered in bleach at his apartment in the 1100 block of 10th St NW. Prosecutors allege McLean then took King’s debit card and purchased a soda at a nearby CVS and then went to Silver Spring to watch the movie “Salt.” McLean told detectives he used the bleach to try and wash away fingerprints because that’s how they do it on CSI.
>> Fairfax County suspect linked to 65 burglaries. 65. That’s quite a career. TBD/ABC7 reports police think as many as 65 recent crimes may be the work of one suspect. The suspect enters occupied homes while residents are asleep… stealing their property. Not exactly the most unique crime, but police do seem confident in saying it is the same suspect. Two handguns have been stolen as part of the crime wave, so the suspect should probably be considered armed as well as flush with cash and sneaky.
