Photo by ::FiZ::WTF: The Rock and Roll Hotel (1353 H Street NE) is hosting the quasi-NSFW Air Sex World Championship, a showcase of mock bumping, grinding and more. It’s sort of like air guitar, but rather than an invisible guitar, you have an invisible partner. There won’t be any nudity or anything “climactic,” but you probably won’t want to bring your grandma. Doors open at 8 p.m., and the show starts at 8:30 p.m. $10.
COMEDY: Prolific author and comedian David Sedaris comes to the Lisner Auditorium (730 21st Street NW) tonight with his story-based hilarity. Fingers crossed he talks about his experiences using a “Stadium Pal” in daily life. 8 p.m. Tickets $44.35-$50.
BOOKS: Cesar Millan makes an appearance at the National Geographic Society’s Grosvenor Auditorium (1600 M Street NW) tonight for a Dog Whisperer Season Seven Premiere Screening and Book Signing. 6:30 p.m. Free.
MOVIE: Irish arts organization Solas Nua restarts their “Irish Popcorn” free film series with Waveriders, a film about surfing in Ireland (who knew?), at the Renaissance Hotel in Dupont (1143 New Hampshire Avenue NW). 7 p.m. Free.
ASTRONOMY: Get better acquainted with the heavens during “The Stars Tonight” at the David M. Brown Planetarium (1426 N. Quincy St. Arlington). Planetarium Director Jonathan Harmon will explain “celestial events of the month” and help visitors view the stars. 7:30 p.m. Free.
