FOOD & DRINK: The Taste of Dupont tonight features tastings at 19 different restaurants in the area. Some of the selections include Bouillabaisse and Coq au vin at Cafe Dupont at the Dupont Hotel (1500 New Hampshire Avenue NW), Pumpkin Risotto and Stuffed Mushrooms at Cafe Green (1513 17th Street NW), Braised Short-Ribs with Truffle Mac-N-Cheese at Level One (1639 R Street NW) and more. 6-9 p.m. Tickets are $5 for each tasting, or $20 for five.

MOVIE: The Washington Psychotronic Film Society presents Anguish, a “movie within a movie” from the 80s about horror movie audience members who are terrorized by a killer. Head to The Passenger (1021 7th Street NW) for the screening at 8 p.m. Free, but a donation is suggested.

SHOW: Cirque du Soleil continues its bug themed performance, OVO, in a surprisingly intimate tent at the National Harbor tonight through October 24. Tickets : $55-$130. 8 p.m.

HAPPY HOUR: Check out the “Big Easy” Happy Hour at Acadiana (901 New York Avenue NW), for $4 beer, $5 cocktails and half off appetizers, including oysters on the Half Shell, BBQ pork ribs and fried green tomatoes. 3:30-6:30 p.m.

BOOKS: Head to the National Zoo (3001 Connecticut Avenue NW) for “Salmon in the Trees: Life in Alaska’s Tongass Rain Forest.” Nature photographer Amy Gulick will talk about and show photos from her experiences in Alaska’s Tongass rain forest and sign her book. 7 p.m. Free.
