The chunk of maintenance work, which Metro is undertaking all at once — much like they did during Labor Day weekend — to save money and time will have a serious effect on this weekend’s commuting and on Monday’s rush hour. Do you have to report to the office on Monday? Better pay close attention to this list and make sure you can get to where you’re going on time.
Things to Remember:
>> The Farragut West and McPherson Square stations will be closed from 10 p.m. tonight until closing on Monday, October 11.
>> The following events will likely cause some big headaches, so you’d be well advised to avoid the following locations:
- Saturday: Capitals game, 7 p.m., (Gallery Place-Chinatown); D.C. United game, 7:30 p.m., (Stadium-Armory)
- Sunday: Redskins game, 1 p.m. (Orange Line in general); Roger Waters concert at Verizon Center, 8 p.m. (Gallery Place-Chinatown)
- Monday: Capitals game, 7 p.m., (Gallery Place-Chinatown)
>> Every other Blue Line train coming from Franconia-Springfield before 9:30 p.m. during the weekend will cross the Yellow Line bridge to L’Enfant Plaza. Make sure you double check PIDs and train information displays to assure that you’re going in the direction that you need to be going.
