Not to get all TMZ on you guys or anything, but its not often that we get the chance to post about cranky interactions between Hollywood stars and Washington paparazzi.

On Tuesday, Shia LaBeouf — in town for the Transformers 3 filming — obviously wasn’t pleased with what appears to be a couple photographers who were interrupting his serious study of the life of Republican party strategist Lee Atwater at a table outside the Illy coffeeshop at the corner of New Hampshire Avenue and M Street NW. LaBeouf got up to escape the “hounding,” and as he was sprinting across the New Hampshire Avenue median, threw the remainder of his beverage on Mark Wilkins, a local paparazzo. Wilkins, who goes by the handle DCCelebrity on Twitter, tweeted that after he took this photograph, LaBeouf “thru his coffee on me.”

Based on the above video, it looks like there was a sizable amount of joe left in that cup. (Strange, it would totally take me downing least four full cups of coffee to get really pumped to down a book about a Republican party strategist.) Of course, there are tons of things to marvel about in the vid: how LaBeouf really hustled to splash Wilkins, the completely bewildered reactions of the people just trying to cross the street and the fact that LaBeouf transformed (hah — get it!) into Steve Prefontaine as he ran away down M Street.
