HIGH HEEL RACE: Head to 17th Street NW between P and R Streets tonight for The 24th Annual High Heel Race. There will be costumes, heels and sheer speed. Mayor Adrian Fenty and Lena Lett will serve as Grand Marshalls. The parade starts at 7 p.m., followed by the race at 9.

FOOD & DRINK: Eatonville Restaurant (2121 14th Street NW) continues their Food & Folklore series with a four-course Voodoo dinner, featuring hors d’oeuvres (Jambalaya Poppers, Cajun Fried Eggplant, Haitian Beef Kabobs), Timlice Salad, Baked Voodoo Chicken with red beans and rice, and bread pudding. MOVIES: The Washington Psychotronic Film Society presents The Psycho B-Monsterama-A-go go Spooky Freak Show at The Passenger (1021 7th Street NW) tonight, where they will “will unleash some of the freakiest stuff known to man upon our audience.” Their vagueness intrigues us. 8 p.m. Free, but a small donation is suggested.

HAPPY HOUR: Proceeds from tonight’s Spooktacular Canine Happy Hour and Costume Contest at Tommy Joe’s Restaurant (4714 Montgomery Lane, Bethesda) will raise money for the Washington Animal Rescue League. There will be prizes for the best dressed dogs, as well as raffle prizes. 6:30-8:30 p.m. $10.

CLASSICAL: Head to the Freer Gallery of Art (Jefferson Drive at 12th Street SW) to hear nine performers (clarinet, French horn, harp, double-bass, mezzo-soprano, and string quartet) from the recent Marlboro Music Festival. 7:30 p.m. The event is free, but you can reserve your space through Ticketmaster for a fee.
