Bubble Gaga (see photo number 17) proudly sported these Alexander McQueen hoof shoes.

Balmy temperatures and no rain? Not the typical meteorological fare for the ever-popular High Heel Race. But last night’s 17th Street spectacle did live up to the usual standards of costume, footwear and all-around fierceness in front of an energetic and sizable crowd.

In celebrity sightings, Mayor-for-a-bit-longer Adrian Fenty was having a blast posing with everyone and their sister before the start. Councilmen David Catania (I-At Large) and Jack Evans (D-Ward 2) were also in attendance. Cat and Paul — or man-Tyra, as we preferred to call him — of Real Housewives of D.C. fame walked along the parade route for a bit, but ducked out of the limelight when they reached the starting line. Pretend celebs were much more prevalent, including several Lady Gagas, a large group of Chilean miners’ wives/girlfriends/mistresses (accompanied by only a handful of miners) and the late Michael Jackson.
