Good morning, Washington. So, anybody see any tornadoes (or at least a spin-down) overnight? (Yours truly was admittedly too busy catching forty winks to notice.) It appears as if the predicted windpocalypse fell short of what many were projecting — sure, there were a couple more inside-out umbrellas than normal littering the sidewalk, but it seems like it’s little more than a gloomy, rainy day out there. This morning’s rain appears to have actually passed D.C. by at this point, though forecasts are predicting more precipitation this afternoon, and some area flights have been delayed or canceled. The miserable weather also have me thinking about the individuals who will be queuing up this morning to ensure that they gain admittance into today’s Daily Show taping featuring President Barack Obama. Remember: the first couple sections of the line are under cover — as if anyone with tickets needed another reason to get to Harman early today.

Man Found Driving Slain Professor’s Jeep Is D.C. Ward: Deandrew Hamlin, who was arrested yesterday after leading police on a chase, then crashing a Jeep Cherokee which belonged to deceased American University professor Sue Marcum, is a ward of the D.C. Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services. Hamlin had been previously convicted on destruction of property charges in 2009, reports the Examiner. Police are still investigating Hamlin’s involvement with Marcum’s death, which is being investigated as a homicide — in the event that Hamlin is charged with the late professor’s murder, it would push the number of city wards who have either been killed or charged with murder in 2010 close to 20.

I Can’t Find A Parking Space: That’s usually the cry of frustrated drivers, but during this Saturday’s Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear, its something you’ll be hearing plenty of from cyclists, too. Dave Jamieson reports that the Washington Area Bicyclist Association is actually advising people not to ride to the rally on Saturday, since there won’t be enough places to lock up their bikes. WABA usually offers a bike valet service for large events on the Mall, but organizers of the rally apparently weren’t interested.

Takoma Park Ejaculator Arrested: A 29-year-old Baltimore man has been arrested and charged with second degree assault and indecent exposure for an incident in which he ejaculated on a woman inside a Takoma Park library. Oritse Ayu, who police believe may also be involved in other similar incidents on the campus of Montgomery College, reportedly had also been found guilty of similar acts when he was a student at the University of Maryland earlier this decade.

Briefly Noted: D.C. police asking for help in search for missing woman…NPR receives bomb threat …Adams Morgan CVS sold for $11.7 million…D.C. approves winter shelter plan for homeless…Nationals set for long-overdue overhaul of uniforms, unveiling set for Nov. 10. (Rumored: no more ugly block NATIONALS. This is a very good thing.)

This Day in DCist: Last year, a Council hearing on proposed same-sex marriage legislation made for some must-see TV, and we found out that nearly half of D.C. lives alone.
