HALLOWEEN PARTY: Night of the Living Zoo, sponsored by Magic Hat, is an adults-only night of costumes, performances (palm readers, fire eaters, and illusionists) and food and drink at the National Zoo (3001 Connecticut Avenue NW). There will be a costume contest with prizes including “a Magic Hat Happy Hour with the Giant Pandas, a Breakfast with the Birds, or an exclusive tour of the Zoo.” 8 p.m.-midnight. Costume judging begins at 9:30 p.m. $40.

DANCE: Learn the steps to Michael Jackson’s Thriller dance from Joy of Motion (1333 H Street NE) then perform your newly acquired dance skills at the Thriller on H Street Party (1207 H Street NE). 7-9 p.m. $25 in advance, $30 at the door.

FUNDRAISER: Fringe Folly, the costume ball, dance party, auction, fundraising event of the Capital Fringe Festival is being held tonight at Fort Fringe (607 New York Avenue NW). 8 p.m.-2 a.m. Tickets vary in price ($25 to $150) and what they include (from just a concert, to a party and concert, to a party, concert and open bar).

MUSIC: The Corin Tucker Band, newly-formed and made up of Corin Tucker (formerly from Sleater-Kinney), Sara Lund (Unwound) and Seth Lorinczi (The Golden Bears), comes to the Black Cat (1811 14th Street NW). 9 p.m. $15.

ART: Hirshhorn After Hours (1 Independence Avenue and 7th Street SW) offers two DJs, two artists (Ruth Jarman and Joe Gerhardt) presenting a number of short films, and a gallery talk. 8 p.m.-midnight. Tickets $18.

>> Carriage House Studio (1327 Naylor Court NW) presents a Halloween Figurative Photography Exhibition “featuring fine art/nude figurative photography with a twist of fetish to celebrate Halloween.” There will be complimentary snacks and refreshments. 7-10 p.m.
