Even Shadow Senator Paul Strauss had a car in the parade. And a classic one, to boot.

UPDATE (1:00 a.m.): All precincts have been accounted for; over 125,000 people voted, fewer than in the primary. (Same-day and absentee ballots haven’t yet been counted, but they won’t likely push the number above the primary.) Vince Gray claimed 90,000 votes, while the write-in campaign for Mayor Adrian Fenty notched a very impressive 27,000 votes, or 22 percent. More to come tomorrow.

UPDATE (11:55 p.m.): Nothing dramatic has changed, but write-ins for Mayor Adrian Fenty have increased to 18,423 with 109 precincts reporting. Gray has a substantial lead, nevertheless, claiming 61,041 votes so far. Cheh can now claim victory, with 14 of 17 precincts in Ward 3 reporting. And in the so-called crazy votes, Republican House challenger Missy Reilly Smith has over 5,000 votes, Queen Noble has claimed 490 and mayoral hopeful Carlos Allen is over 1,400. Wow.

It’s 11:25 p.m. and 74 of the District’s 143 precincts have been accounted for. So far, it’s certain that Eleanor Holmes Norton, Mike Panetta, Phil Mendelson (D-At Large), David Catania (I-At Large), Jim Graham (D-Ward 1), Harry Thomas, Jr. (D-Ward 5) and Tommy Wells (D-Ward 6) have cruised to easy re-elections. Mary Cheh (D-Ward 3) has a comfortable lead, and will likely hold off challenger Dave Hedgepeth.

Vince Gray is moving to victory in the mayoral contest, but write-ins for Mayor Adrian Fenty are nothing to scoff at — 11,136 so far. Kwame Brown will be the District’s next D.C. Council Chairman. And yes, we will have an elected Attorney General by 2014, with 77 percent of voters siding with the measure so far.

And yes, there’s plenty from the State Board of Education and ANCs, but we’ll wait until everything is reported before getting to that.

For to-the-minute updates, I’m still live-tweeting from the D.C. Board of Elections and Ethics.
