Meanwhile, the Metro board revealed today that, as part of their own inspection into all 588 of their machines, they have replaced brake pads on 40 escalators and taken 16 out of service.
- Westbound Interstate 66 at the Dulles Connector Road will close at 11 tonight to allow work on the Metro extension to Dulles to proceed. The highway will reopen at 5 a.m. While we’re talking about suburban interstates, Interstate 270 will be widened, despite protests from transit and smart-growth advocates.
