The Thanksgiving holiday clears out most of the classical music calendar. If you find yourself in Washington this week, here are a few options.

>> Maryland Opera Studio’s production of Daniel Catán’s Florencia en el Amazonas, with a piano reduction of the score, continues at Clarice Smith Center on Monday and Tuesday (November 22 and 23, 7:30 p.m.).

>> On Wednesday at lunchtime (November 24, 12:10 p.m.), the NGA Chamber Players perform a free concert of Italian Renaissance music at the National Gallery of Art (East Building, concourse auditorium).

>> The Joffrey Ballet wins the prize for the earliest production of Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker, at the Kennedy Center Opera House, throughout the holiday weekend (November 24 and 26-28, various times).

>> Get an early dose of the Christmas schmaltz with a concert of holiday music by the Mormon Orchestra and Choir of Washington, D.C., in the Music Center at Strathmore (November 27, 2 and 8 p.m.).

>> On Saturday night (November 27, 7:30 p.m.), there is the Taiwanese American Charity Annual Concert in the Kennedy Center Terrace Theater, featuring Keng-Yuen Tseng (violin), Peter Wen-Chih Lee (tenor), and Sheng-Yuan Kuan (piano).

>> The all-male vocal ensemble Chanticleer brings another Chanticleer Christmas to the GMU Center for the Arts on Saturday (November 27, 8 p.m.).

>> On Sunday (November 28, 4 p.m.) pianist Alan Mandel plays a recital at the Phillips Collection. Tickets are $20 and include museum admission.

>> Also on Sunday (November 28, 6:30 p.m.), a free recital by pianist Ian Shapinsky includes music by Chopin, Ginastera, and others, at the National Gallery of Art (West Building, West Garden Court).
