UPDATE: Details are scant, but TBD now reports that a dead body was found inside the home by firefighters after the blaze was extinguished. D.C. Fire and EMS responded to a fire at a two-story rowhouse on the 3600 block of 16th Street NW around 3:20 this afternoon. Fortunately, firefighters were able to quickly knock down the flames, which were apparently shooting out of the windows and had reached the roof of the home. No injuries have yet been reported. It is likely that traffic along 16th Street NW will be blocked for some time this afternoon.
