Much of what local theaters are offering this month is holiday-themed fare, but there’s a touch of time travel, a hint of politics and a bit of mystery thrown in for good measure. Here are the highlights.

>> Madeline L’Engle fans should take note that Round House will stage A Wrinkle In Time this month. There is, by the way, such thing as a tesseract (December 1).

>> Cherry Red Productions keeps things fresh and a little scandalous, as always, with their next show-stopper, Wife Swappers (December 2).

>> Ready to wash that man right out of your hair? Head to Kennedy Center, where they’re performing South Pacific (December 14).

>> Anna Deavere Smith takes the stage at Arena, performing her one-woman piece, Let Me Down Easy (December 31).
