UPDATE (2:35 p.m.): The station has reportedly reopened. Police have closed the Federal Center SW Metro Station this afternoon due to the investigation of a suspicious package somewhere outside the station. Per Dr. Gridlock, the 400 block of 3rd Street SW has also been closed to traffic. Blue and Orange line service does not appear to be affected, though you won’t be able to get off the train at Federal Center SW until the situation is cleared.
