Pound Coffee, 621 Pennsylvania Ave. SE, is celebrating its impending opening by offering free coffee from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. today outside of its shop. Stop by on your way to Eastern Market or brunch in the Capitol Hill area. They won’t be serving average joe either: kickapoo coffee won Roast Magazine’s 2010 Micro-Roaster of the Year. They will also have their in-house baked goods, like banana and pumpkin bread, for free. Pound will be opening in February 2011.
