Photo from DCist tipline. In today’s Morning Roundup, we noted that a rowhouse fire investigation along the 1200 block of N Street NW was snarling traffic and creating quite a scene — now there are some pretty wild details about what exactly happened this morning.
A task force of U.S. Marshals were serving a warrant at a home at 1215 N Street NW around 8 a.m. A suspect, who was wanted for failure to appear in a rape case, was inside the building; according to ABC7, the suspect came to the door of the building covered in some kind of flammable liquid and then set himself on fire. One female marshal was seriously burned, and both the suspect and that marshal were transported to Washington Hospital Center — their conditions are not yet known.
Obviously, we’ll keep an eye on this story as it develops.
