  • Things are progressing in the Robert Wone civil trial — today, D.C. Superior Court Judge Brook Hedge denied the defense’s motion to install a gag order during the proceedings. Hedge also ruled that the defendants in the case — Joseph Price, Dylan Ward and Joseph Zaborsky — must assert their Fifth Amendment rights themselves, instead of doing so through their attorney.   • Councilmember Harry Thomas, Jr. will have to turn over documents concerning his Team Thomas nonprofit, which Republicans believe is a slush fund and Attorney General Peter Nickles has repeatedly subpoenaed him for. Of course, considering the deadline for Thomas to turn over the papers is January 8, Nickles might not ever get the chance to review them, seeing as how he’s leaving the AG post and all.
  • A 17-year-old was found dead this morning near Nationals Park — police are investigating reports of gunshots in the area overnight and whether that was the cause of death.
  • Yup, if you’re iPhone gets swiped, you’re pretty much screwed.
  • The District is reminding people about its Hypothermia Watch Partner Program, which provides emergency shelter to D.C. residents when the temperature starts dipping below freezing. You can get a bevy of information about the program here, or you can call 1-800-535-7252 for information on nearby shelters if you see someone in need.

  • WMATA reminded people that they will be introducing a new, limited-stop express bus line, the X9 — which will run between the Capitol Heights Metro station and the intersection of 13th and H Streets NW — on December 19. Of course, if you’re an avid DCist reader, you already knew this.
