According to the people over at Business Insider, who apparently have the resources to pen double-bylined stories which basically entail reporters looking up swear words on Google, says that for the second straight year, a Virginia suburb is “the most obscene place in America.” Ashburn, Virginia earned the award this year — in 2009, Herndon took top honors as the place to get your expletive on. (Herndon finished third this year.)

We tried to glean something from the report’s analysis of precisely why Ashburn was so obscene, beating out American bastions of cursing like Philadelphia. But Business Insider’s blurb on the suburb was less than helpful, only noted that it is the hometown of Farooque Ahmed and the origin of the city’s name.

So let’s crowdsource this thing. Is it because Ashburn residents have to deal with Ken Cuccinelli’s legal nagging on a constant basis? Is it just the constant drag of those long commutes on the Dulles Toll Road and Leesburg Pike? Is Ashburn’s ranking boosted by the number of times Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan has cursed this season while reviewing film of the team at Redskins Park? Help me out here, people.
