CRAFTS: The Capitol Riverfront Holiday Market (1100 New Jersey Avenue SE) kicks off five days of local arts and crafts sales (including jewelry, pottery, watercolors, photography and more) tonight by featuring wreaths and trees from Ginko Gardens and live music. Tuesday-Friday, 12-7 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

STORYTELLING: Hear stories about “being a guest, having guests, and hospitality” at Mi Casa es Tu Casa, this month’s storytelling event from SpeakeasyDC at the Town Danceboutique (2009 8th Street NW). Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the show starts at 8. $10 admission; for an additional $10, you get access to an all-you-can-eat buffet provided by Nellie’s.

MOVIES: The Washington Psychotronic Film Society presents the futuristic story of a boy, his telepathic dog and the apocalypse with the 1975 film A Boy and His Dog at The Passenger (1021 7th Street NW). 8 p.m. Free, but a $2 donation is appreciated.

HAPPY HOUR: Author Holly Kearl discusses her book, Stop Street Harassment: Making Public Places Safe and Welcoming for Women, at the American Association of University Women’s Cocktails & Convos happy hour tonight at Nage (1600 Rhode Island Avenue NW). Happy hour specials include $5 cocktails, $4 martinis, $3 wine, $2 beer and $1 frites. 5-7 p.m. Free.

ART: Artist Spencer Finch comes to the Corcoran (500 17th Street NW) to talk about his work at Spencer Finch: My Business, with the Cloud. A reception follows the talk. 7 p.m. $20.

FOOD & DRINK: Rick Wasmund, owner of Virginia’s Copper Fox Distillery, is hosting a whiskey tasting tonight at Little Miss Whiskey’s (1104 H Street NE). 6 p.m. Free.

READING: Folger Theater (201 East Capitol Street SE) celebrates Emily Dickinson’s birthday with cake and the poetry of Lucia Perillo. 7:30 p.m. $15.
