Did you guys forget about DCist Exposed? What if we tell you that the opening nights at Long View Gallery will be on March 15 and 16 and that the show will run through March 27? Will that nudge you into action?
We’re off to a pretty decent start, with just over a hundred pictures submitted to the pool — but that’s nowhere near the 1,100 submissions we had last year. I know it’s a recession, but hey, the pixels should still be flowing freely.
You’ve got until Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 11:59 p.m. to submit your photos, but why wait until the last minute? With the holidays approaching, some of you are going to have some downtime, so get to selecting and posting. As you do, keep these two questions in the back of your mind: “Does this photo show D.C. (and it’s environs) in a new light? Would this picture look great hanging in a gallery?”
And since it is the hap-hap-holidays, you might be looking for a wonderful (if slightly time-delayed) photo gift. Why not consider pre-ordering a copy of our five-year retrospective magazine over at Kickstarter? Thirty wonderful people have already pushed us to nearly half our goal, without which, we won’t be able to do a print run — maybe you can push us through the next half!
