Firefighters have responded to the scene of a large, two-alarm fire at the Takoma Elementary Recreation/Education Center, located at 7010 Piney Branch Road NW. Smoke and flames are reportedly shooting through the roof of the building. According to the fire department, there were no students inside the school where the fire broke out, as they are currently on winter break. No injuries have been reported to date.
