A group of armed, masked men walked into the Platanillos Grocery in Woodbridge last Sunday morning, announced they were robbing the place, then took off with about $100,000 in cash and jewelery. That’s when things got interesting. According to the Washington Post, an unidentified manager of the store followed the robbers out, got into his car and proceeded to chase down the gunmen, dodging bullets while repeatedly ramming his own car into the getaway vehicle to try and stop it. Eventually, the robbers shook the manager and abandoned the car on Interstate 95, along with some of the loot — police say that they are still looking for Jesus Garcia-Guinea, 38, who is believed to be the man behind this robbery and others in Hyattsville. I’m going to go ahead and assume that the police would also encourage robbery victims to not attempt apprehending their attackers by engaging in Ronin-esque car chases around Prince William County, as well.
