  • Sarah Godfrey reports that Love nightclub is back — the city’s Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration has completed a transfer of a liquor license from former owner Marc Barnes to new owner Dean Smothers, and the club will be open for business on Christmas Day. Wale and Chris Brown are two of the big names scheduled to make appearances at the “new” club in the near future.
  • According to an Examiner analysis of American Community Survey data, “Southeast D.C., Anacostia west bank” is the community with the lowest median household income in the region, the only D.C. location to make the bottom 15.
  • A 70-year-old woman was seriously injured this morning after being hit by a vehicle on the 1200 block of Brentwood Road NE.
  • Sure, the Penguins got the better of the Caps last night in a shootout. But we’re more excited for the return match in Pittsburgh on New Year’s Day. Heinz Field, which is hosting the game, has installed a webcam on top of the stadium, so we can all keep an eye on the progress of the rink that is under construction.
