NEW YEAR’S EVE: Our New Year’s Eve roundup includes events with burlesque, trapeze, comedy, beer, dancing, theater and of course, champagne. Also check out the numerous jazz performances going on around D.C. tonight.
>> If your New Year’s resolution is to be in better shape, get a head start at Yoga District’s (1830 First Street NW) Headstanders’ Ball. At midnight, you’ll count down to 2011 while standing on your head. 10 p.m. to midnight. $10.
>> Everyone should spend New Year in heels. Yes, boys, everyone. Come see drag sensation Special Agent Galatica sing in the New Year at her show The Only Gal in Town at Go Mama Go! (1809 14th Street NW). 8 p.m. $10.
>> Little Miss Whiskey’s Golden Dollar (1104 H Street NE) is joining forces with Jimmy Valentine’s Lonely Hearts Club (1103 Bladensburg Road NE) for “Double Whammy,” a joint New Year’s Eve party for those aged 25 years and up. There will be a shuttle running between the two locations throughout the night; beginning at 12:30 a.m., it will also make stops at Union Station. $90 gets you access to both parties and open bar all night, or just pick one place and a cash bar for $25.
>> Union Pub (201 Massachusetts Avenue NE) is throwing a Boardwalk Empire-themed party, sponsored by Batch 19, with $5 “You-Call-It” Martinis, $3 rail drinks and free Batch 19 draft beer from 10:00 till 11:30 p.m. There will also be a free champagne toast at midnight.
FOOD & DRINK: Brasserie Beck (1101 K Street NW) is offering a three-course New Year’s Eve menu, with selections like oyster gratin, grassential hare and lamb ragout. 6 p.m. $65 per person, and add wine or beer pairings for an extra $25 per person.
>> Hit Meridian Pint (3400 11th Street NW) for a three-course menu with beer pairings. And forget the champagne — there will be a rare beer toast at midnight. 7 p.m.-3 a.m. $50.
>> Enjoy a six-course course meal paired with no less than ten beers at Birch & Barley‘s (1337 14th Street NW) New Year’s Eve Event. Call (202) 567-2576 for reservations. 7-10 p.m. $150.
>> RFD (810 7th Street NW) New Years bash includes a $15 buffet from 8-10 p.m., $5 drafts all night and a beer toast at midnight. 8 p.m.-1:30 a.m. No cover.
