Morning, Washington. I think everyone is still pretty heavy hearted following the Tucson shooting yesterday. There have been vigils as well as updates of Rep. Giffords’ condition, stories of an intern who saved her life, and details about those who died.

>> Guess this editor was premature about saying the snow yesterday morning didn’t cause any traffic problems. There was an epic 52 car crash on I-95 Saturday morning because of slick roads. Insert your D.C. area drivers can’t handle driving in bad weather comment here.

>> Yesterday’s Prince George’s County, MD homicide victim died of apparent stab wounds. The police have not said if this homicide is related to the others they attributed to a drug ring in the county.

>> Georgetown residents are fighting further expansion of the university in the “didn’t you realize you moved into a neighborhood with a college” story. Georgetown University’s 10 year plan will include new and renovated academic buildings, pedestrian-friendly walkways, and more graduate students. Georgetown residents want more student housing on campus to get those darn kids out of their neighborhood.

>> And don’t forget, today is no pants Metro ride day – so yes you’re not going crazy, there are going to be pantless people on our public transportation system.
