TUESDAY

Tonight’s headliner at Iota is intriguing: the awkwardly named The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger is the project of Sean Lennon and his girlfriend Charlotte Kemp Muhl; the pair play whimsical acoustic numbers. But equally interesting is that the opener tonight is the golden-voiced Julianna Barwick, the siren whose looping effects made her voice fill Sixth & I Synagogue about a month back. Go for her or go for the Beatles progeny. $15, 8:30 p.m.

>> Birchmere: Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. $35, 7:30 p.m.

WEDNESDAY

It’s rare that a song is distinctive enough to merit a Washington City Paper cover article, but that’s what happened when former local DJ (and half of Nadastrom) Dave Nada released “Moombahton.” What started as an EP in which Nada slowed Dutch House music has become a new subgenre. Nada may have left D.C. for the Left Coast, but his presence is still regularly felt around D.C. — as it will be on Wednesday. Moombahton Massive 2 comes to U Street Music Hall with DJs Sabo, Munchi and Heartbreak. $5 with RSVP, $10 without. 10:00 p.m.
