The bar is closing to make way for the expansion of the menswear store Thomas Pink. Another to-be-named restaurant and lounge will open in the space in the Mayflower that the Pink store vacated.
The bartender, Sambonn Lek, who has manned the Town & Country bar for more than 30 years, will call out last call at 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning. Lek, known for his magic tricks, like making $20 bills levitate, is not only a wonderful drink maker, but the epitome of the classy, friendly bartender. Lek will move on the to new lounge as its bartender once it opens.
