Photo by ekelly80.Adventures in Craigslist is a whenever-we-find-something-interesting series in which we dive headfirst into the vast complexities of the Washington region’s Craigslist. Today: the people you encounter during a thundersnowtrafficpocalypse.
Normally, missed connections on Craigslist are limited to one person. Two people, maybe. But in the whirlwind of Wednesday’s snowstorm, it was obvious that there were going to be a lot of people making a lot of instant acquaintances without the appropriate introductions. Like this guy from Great Falls, who penned what is probably close to the most epic missed connection post we’ve ever seen about his day of pushing cars and meeting “awesome” people.
I’m not sure what is with the hateful posts everyone is putting on Craigslist….swearing and ranting about things that don’t really make sense, but I had a great time meeting a lot of people in a rather horrible situation.
Here’s to you, all you random people! I hope you made it home ok. (from the guy in jeans and a white tshirt or purple shirt after that got soaked)
Old Dominion Dr
1. Foreign guy (sorry not sure from where) who I stopped to make sure you were ok and you said “My car thingy go poof in my face” sorry I laughed and glad you’re ok.
2. Silver chrysler with rear wheel drive = I hope the rescue crew got you going again. Sorry I couldn’t help much there.
3. The guy with a truck who refused to stay in the right lane while I was helping the silver car and even blocked rescue vehicles….please…just try to listen to others. I appreciate you finally moving though.
4. The people who followed my directions while I was directing traffic, THANKS for listening! A few of you offered to let me in your car to stay warm and offered me a jacket. That was truly wonderful to hear.
Oh, but there’s more. We haven’t even gotten to Georgetown Pike yet!
