THEATER: The Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival, featuring “short plays, monologues, soliloquies, songs, and spoken word inspired by the life, presidency, and legacy of John F. WEDNESDAY: On Wednesday, Joshua Bell will be performing a rescheduled concert. The original concert was canceled last week due to a power outage from the snow storm and led him to give a mini-performance in the lobby of the Music Center at Strathmore (5301 Tuckerman Lane, North Bethesda). Tickets that were purchased for last week’s canceled performance will be honored, and more tickets are also available. 8 p.m. $75-$115.

THURSDAY: Come watch 10 writers perform their works (in any way other than a typical reading) in front of a panel of judges ready to boot them off stage at any moment at The Literati Gong Show at Madam’s Organ (2461 18th Street NW). 6:30 p.m. Free.

FRIDAY: The Black Cat (1811 14th Street NW) is hosting a Literature Party, including readings, music, a “confessional booth” and more, to benefit 826DC, a non-profit that helps kids develop writing skills. 9 p.m. $10.
