Brandon Banks, AP File Photo.More information is beginning to surface about the stabbing incident outside The Park at Fourteenth nightclub over the weekend which injured two people, including Washington Redskins punt returner Brandon Banks. According to court documents, Jason DaCosta Shorter stabbed Banks and Christopher Nixon with a knife that he had hidden behind his back after someone made a joke about Shorter wearing an all-white outfit.
The charging document — embedded after the jump — states that Shorter attacked the two men after a punch, possibly thrown by Nixon, was thrown outside the club around 3 a.m. last Saturday; a bouncer attempted to intervene in the scuffle, but Shorter allegedly reached around and “repeatedly stabbed” Banks (believed to be “W2” on the documents) and Nixon. The documents state that Banks spoke with police after the incident and identified Shorter as the man who stabbed him. Rend Smith reports that police are currently reviewing security footage from the incident to attempt to determine how the whole thing started.
