Photo by idit.Good morning, Washington. If last week’s glorious weather caused you to forget that we’re still about a month away from the onset of spring, waking up this morning to a coating of snow and ice around the region probably slapped you back into reality. Fortunately, things appear to be moving along as normal today: both the federal and D.C. governments opened on time today, there are surprisingly few power outages, Capital Bikeshare is open and Metro is operational. (D.C. Public Schools are opening two hours late, like most regional schools.) The morning commute has been messy, with DDOT admitting that they are still treating residential roads, plenty of traffic issues and icy sidewalks making for a slippery walk for many.
Dorothy Height Post Office: Civil rights leader Dorothy Height, who died last April, will have the U.S. post office near Union Station at 2 Massachusetts Avenue NE named in her honor this afternoon. Height, who was the president of the National Council of Negro Women for 40 years and a D.C. resident, will be the first black woman to have a federal building in the District named after her.
Wolf Wants Airports Audit: With a bill to expand service at National Airport again spurring debate between local and Western legislators, one Virginia representative wants the federal government to look into the airfield’s operators. Rep. Frank Wolf (R-VA), who represents the district where Dulles International Airport is located, is calling on the Government Accountability Office to investigate accusations that the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority board of directors used race-based discourse in its search for a new CEO. In addition to managing National and Dulles, MWAA is also responsible for the Dulles Toll Road and construction of the Dulles Rail project.

This Day in DCist: Last year, Google Transit got Circulator data and opponents of same-sex marriage were shot down…again.
