The folks behind Sweetgreen, the D.C.-based purveyors of locally-sourced salads and frozen yogurt treats, are hosting the second annual Sweetlife Festival on Saturday, April 30 — and this year’s festival features some major changes. Last year’s event was held in a parking lot in Dupont and featured a headlining DJ set by Hot Chip and performances by D.C.’s very own US Royalty and another band with DC roots, The Love Language. This year’s headliner? The Strokes. The venue? Merriweather Post Pavilion.

Last year’s space allowed for several hundred attendees, but Merriweather can hold nearly 20,000. Sweetgreen teamed up with the Jamie Oliver Food Foundation this year, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the charity. No word yet on ticket cost, but you can register for the ticket pre-sale at sweetlifefestival.com.

Another change: this year, those in attendance will be able to visit an on-site farmer’s market and purchase produce, in addition to the venue’s standard concessions. Let’s just hope they don’t get rid of the funnel cakes.

More bands will be announced in the coming weeks, but until then, what bands would you want to see play Sweetlife this year? What D.C. bands should be represented? Let us know in the comments.
