Gull is playing tonight at the Black Cat Backstage.

MONDAY

Who is that masked man? It’s Gull, a mysterious musician from “the wilds” (accurate, if that promo photo is any indication) that’s one part Sonic Circuits experimentalism and one part sludgy Dead Meadow sounding guitar. He can easily switch between guitar and drums and just might blow your mind. Fell Types opens this show at the Black Cat Backstage. $8, 9:00 p.m.

TUESDAY

After years of relative inactivity, The Get Up Kids are joining The Dismemberment Plan, Sunny Day Real Estate and Cap’n Jazz in the “Bands We Liked in the ’90s and Early ’00s Reuniting” Club. I’ll think of a less awkward title for that club later. Regardless, we’re excited to hear the raw emotional band (with very complex drumming!) coming back to the Black Cat. Get there early for Miniature Tigers and Brian Bonz. $21 in advance / $25 day of show. 8:00 p.m.

>> Red Palace: Future Islands, Thank You, Ed Schrader’s Music Beat. $10, 8:30 p.m.
